Stan Renard explains how to get sponsors for your shows. He talks about the different types of sponsorships, the best ways to contact individuals and companies, and how to ask for sponsorships. He also gives examples of the types of sponsorships he receives as a touring musician and for Music Biz Day.

Stan is the Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Music Marketing Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is also a recording artist, violinist, violist, conductor, and the founder and arranger of the Grammy-Nominated Bohemian Quartet.

Stan also produces a music festival and Music Biz Day which is the largest music business expo of it's kind in the country. It's completely free and hosted by UTSA. All of the funding is generated by sponsors and vendors.

Amy is a PTSD peer-to-peer specialist, writer for Huffington Post, speaker for TEDx and RAINN, and is an award-winning actress and playwright.

She has performed her one-woman, autobiographical musical, "Gutless & Grateful," in theaters and colleges nationwide. To celebrate her own “beautiful detour”, Amy created the #LoveMyDetour campaign, to help others cope with unexpected events. David Parr discusses how he's run a successful weekly show in Chicago for the past decade. He talks about why he started a weekly show, how he pitched his idea to theaters, the deal that he made with a theater, and how he continues to be successful year after year.

David is the creator and costar of Chicago’s longest-running magic show, The Magic Cabaret, now celebrating its tenth anniversary! The Magic Cabaret was chosen by the Travel Channel as one of the top magic shows in the nation!

You might recognize David from his appearance on the hit TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us on The CW network. In an episode titled “Does This Trick Ring a Bell?” (Season 4, Episode 5), David’s magic skills were put to the ultimate test in front of the cameras, a live audience, millions of TV viewers, and two very savvy magicians. Anna Rose is a co-founder of Nothing Without a Company. Although a native of Texas, she has considered Chicago and the theatre community her home for over 14 years. She fell in love with Chicago while attending the National High School Institute Cherub program at Northwestern. Soon after, she attended DePaul Theater School and Columbia College Chicago, where she received her BFA in Acting with a minor in Directing. Bruce Pachtman discusses how to write a hook-able show description. He discusses why you should take time to write a description, how to use it most effectively in your promotional material, and how to use it draw people to your shows.

Bruce wrote and performed a solo show titled, “Don't Make Me Look Too Psychotic”. It was scheduled to run for 18 performances in San Francisco but continued for 68 weeks. He played Philadelphia for four months and reopened in San Francisco for another 13 weeks. “Psychotic’s" remarkable run had an unexpected result. Other solo performers engaged Bruce to guide their marketing and publicity campaigns. His client list has grown to include theaters, dance and opera companies, bands, improv groups, and comedians.

Bruce spent four years as the marketing director of Pocket Opera and has worked extensively with W. Kamau Bell Productions as a producer, publicist, and marketing director. In addition to all this, Bruce has produced numerous shows in the Bay area.

He is currently the co-producer of Solo Sundays, a solo performance series which is now in its 9th year. Bruce founded the Solo Performance Workshop solo performance school. He also teaches courses in publicity, marketing, and producing shows.

He returned home to Denver in 2006 to own and run The Clocktower Cabaret, a nightclub in the historic D&F Tower. He produces live music, burlesque, drag shows, and comedy nights, and he has emceed and/or produced two to four shows a week there for the past eleven years. His character, Naughty Pierre, has become a Denver icon and can be found popping up all over town, in addition to his regular shows every Thursday at 8pm and Saturday at 11pm. If you are ever in the Denver area, I suggest going to see one of his shows to see how special they really are.

Adam Goldstein talks about the benefits of being in a niche market. He discusses how being in a niche market lets you to distinguish yourself from competitors, helps you select your content, and helps you focus your marketing strategies to get publicity.

Adam is a Denver-based musician and writer. He is longtime performer based at the Clocktower Cabaret in downtown Denver and is the cofounder of the traditional Irish folk band Avourneen. Their music is a hybrid of old and new, a fusion of ancient and contemporary. Avourneen released their debut album in 2014, and has since appeared at Irish music festivals across Colorado and the West. Adam is also an accomplished journalist, having written for publications like the Aurora Sentinel, Westword, the Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Business Journal, and the Daily Camera.

Matt Marberry talks about the opportunities available for performers at theme parks. He discusses why you'd want to work at a theme park, how to get a job, and explains what takes place during a typical day.

Matt was raised in Las Vegas where he began his entertainment career as a singing bus boy at the Stratosphere Casino. He has worked with companies such as Sea World Parks and Entertainment, Disney Cruise Line, and Universal Studios where he performed as Jake Blues from the Blues Brothers. After years of performing, he was given opportunities to direct shows at Mystery Dinner Playhouse and Captain Jack's Pirate Ship in Virginia Beach.

Matt founded OBX Mystery Dinner in 2014 where he creates, produces, and manages shows. Matt has quickly expanded to other attractions including a ghost tour in the Outer Banks, a second Mystery Dinner Theater in Williamsburg, Virginia, and he will soon be opening a ghost tour in Branson, Missouri.

John Pyka discusses character development for the solo performer. He talks about why it is important to have a character, how he came up with Big Daddy Cool, and teaches his 12 step program of character development.

For nearly 30 years, John has been entertaining audiences around the world with his distinctive theatrical fusion of vocal music, magic, and situational comedy with larger-than-life characters. He is an award-winning actor, singer, and magician who has appeared on MTV, A&E, ABC, PBS, and the BBC. He has also appeared with the touring production of the Broadway Musical “Closer Than Ever” and as “Big Daddy Cool” in the Off-Broadway production of Swingin' At The Roxy.

John has played some of the great characters in theater like The Cowardly Lion, Jud Fry, Rooster Hannigan, Marryin' Sam, Norman Bulansky, Buffalo Bill, and Mr. Bumble. He has created several original characters, including the 1940s swing magician Big Daddy Cool, the past-his-prime vaudevillian Uncle Eddie Sparks, and the World Heavyweight Champion strongman Johnny Awesome!

John is the creator and producer of popular variety shows like The Magic Cabaret, Opry Mills Olde Time Family Theater, The Opry Mills Holiday Family Theater, and Music City Magic. He is also the producer and host of the Dieselpunk Podcast, The Voice of Dieselpunk He is also the producer and host of the weekly YouTube web-show The Roll N Go Game Review Show. Carol is the co-founder of Minnesota Theatre Love. Carol and her sister Julie started the blog in 2014 with the goal of highlighting all of the amazing theatres in the Twin Cities. In the past three years, they have written over 230 posts about must see shows and marketing strategies. In the 90s, Carol worked in the box offices at the Fitzgerald Theater and Park Square Theatre for over a decade. She is currently a librarian at the Ramsey County Library in St. Paul.

Bernie Bregman discusses how he produces successful nerd nightclubs. He talks about why he started the nightclub, the types of deals he makes with venues, and shares his advertising secrets he's used to build his large following.

Bernie is the Founder of Nerds Like Us which is a community for nerd culture. Bernie produces stage shows, conventions, nerd parties, nerd nightclubs, midnight movie screenings, weddings, and many other types of events.

He started as a hype-man in the Rocky Horror circuit in the late 90s before taking on pop-culture and comic conventions. He has worked every kind of event and built an amazing network of talented individuals who help him achieve his event’s goals. His work includes the Rocky Horror 35th and 38th annual conventions, Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con Cosplay Ball 2014-present, and he recently launched the concept of nerd nightclubs all across the country.

Carol Jackson discusses 10 ways to make your website patron friendly. She talks in detail about what information you need on your site, how to make navigation easy, and how to make people want to see your shows.

Carol is the co-founder of Minnesota Theatre Love. Carol and her sister Julie started the blog in 2014 with the goal of highlighting all of the amazing theatres in the Twin Cities. In the past three years, they have written over 230 posts about must see shows and marketing strategies. In the 90s, Carol worked in the box offices at the Fitzgerald Theater and Park Square Theatre for over a decade. She is currently a librarian at the Ramsey County Library in St. Paul.

David DaVinci explains how to book your show on a cruise ship. He talks about why you should perform on a cruise ship, how to create a demo video, how to find and contact agents, and explains the contracts.

David is a world-class illusionist. He has completed multiple world tours, starred in & co-produced “Magical Flight” at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, headlined on five Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Productions, headlined at theme parks, and on Disney, Holland America, Princess, and Norwegian Cruise lines all over the globe. He has won multiple national and international awards including the Pacific Rim Professional Stage Championship and the Masters of Magic Award.

David’s career started when he performed his first show in the 5th grade. By high school he was a local celebrity in Spokane, Washington with performances at local restaurants like Red Robin, Chile’s and Blue Bayou. His career continued to explode and eventually took him to more than 50 countries on 5 continents.

His illusions have been seen on multiple television specials including Masters of Magic, Magic Planet, and OTV in Shanghai. David has performed for international royalty and celebrities such as Rod Stewart, Shaquille O’Neal, Jennifer Garner, and Vanilla Ice. He also performers for corporations like AT&T, BMW, and Lamar Outdoor Advertising.
